Camp Pohelo 2010
July 5 - August 13
9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Camp Pohelo is a 6 week summer program for Tewksbury residents ages 3 - 22 who have an active I.E.P. (Individualized Education Plan). Please note that a 504 plan does not meet the criteria for this program. The goal of the camp is to give recreational and social opportunities to children in a smaller setting and provide daily activities that are geared more specifically to individual needs and less overwhelming than that of our mainstream Summer Program.
Schedule: Monday, July 5th through Friday, August 13th.
Hours: 9am to 2pm
Location: Dewing School Gym
Transportation: Children are to be dropped off at the gym entrance of the school no earlier than 9am. The gym doors will be locked until 9am.
School bus transportation, home only, will be provided by the Camp. Children will board the buses at 1:45pm. Parent/Guardian pickup is also permitted.
Dailly Activities: Camp is both indoors and outdoors. Some examples of daily activites are: Arts and Crafts, Whiffle Ball, Kickball, Basketball, Tag, Jump Rope, Capture the Flag, Puzzles, Board Games, and of course WATERPLAY (sprinklers, balloons, fire hoses)!!!
Weekly Field Trips: Bowling at the Woburn Bowl-A-Drome, Movies at the Tyngsboro Theatres and more to be determined.
Parents will be sent a calendar of daily activities and scheduled trips so that children can be prepared and dressed appropriately for each day..
Registration dates are April 13th & 15th from 6pm-8pm at the Youth Center and April 17th from 10am-noon. A copy of the childs IEP is required at the time of registration.
